Postdoctoral Positions at NIST

Two-year postdoctoral research appointments are available at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD and Boulder, CO through the US National Research Council (NRC) Associateship Program. Applicants must be US citizens.  Application deadline dates are February 1 and August 1 each year.

Topics of interest within NIST’s Applied and Computational Mathematics Division include complex systems and networks, orthogonal polynomials and special functions, quantum information science (including statistics for quantum measurements and applications to cryptography), mathematical modeling (including material science, physics and biotechnology), applied optimization, parallel and distributed algorithms, data mining and visualization, combinatorial software testing, and uncertainty quantification in scientific computing.
