Qualifications: A Doctoral degree in related field is required by the position start date. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is required: Computer Network Administration and Management, Electrical Wireless and Telecommunications, Network Security, Big Data and Structures Management, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT) Integration. Industry experience, prior teaching, the ability to support laboratory development, and teaching of experimental activities are highly desirable. The successful candidate must demonstrate the potential for teaching, scholarly excellence, service, and working with industry. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Applicants should demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will establish a research program related to his/her field of interest. Faculty members at SJSU are expected to participate in department, college, and university committee and other service assignments. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation – through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
