Are You Up For A Challenge?

Virginia Commonwealth University and Dominion Energy are collaborating to launch “Power The Future,” a unique design and development competition. College students from all disciplines will work together to solve challenges just like you would expect in a HackAThon event. Hackathons are all about learning, mentoring, team building, having fun and creating awesome and unexpected things.  PTF 2018 is all that and more.

Overview

Teams will consist of up to four people.  We recommend a cross functional team of engineers, programmers, design/creatives and business minded team members.

  • 24 hours to solve the challenge
  • Shark Tank-style judging
  • $4,000 awarded to the top team
  • Additional prizes for the second-place and third-place teams
  • Paid internships with Dominion Energy may be awarded to participants who stand out
  • Resume enhancing training opportunities, borrowing from the Tech Talks format throughout the event

Who:

College students from all disciplines especially developers/programmers, engineers, creatives, marketers, analysts and business development.

What:

Power The Future 2018 is the inaugural event with a unique take on team design competitions.
