The Department of Computer Science at Louisiana State University in Shreveport invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in Fall 2019. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, teaching experience, and strong research record or research potential.
Strong candidates in all areas of Computer Science are encouraged to apply. However, special emphasis will be given to applicants with expertise in cyber security, AI, robotics, machine learning, networks, data mining, numerical methods, modeling, and simulation.

About the Department
The Department has an ABET accredited program in Computer Science and its faculty is or have been actively involved in projects funded by the NIH, NSF, LA CaTS, LaSPACE, Louisiana Board of Regents, to name a few. LSUS has recently created a Cyber Collaboratory consisting of over 9,000 square feet of space for interdisciplinary work and collaboration. The CS faculty hired this year will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the formation of the Collaboratory. Our goal is to increase the vibrant research collaborations with researchers and clinicians at the nearby LSU Health Sciences Center. Additionally, City of Shreveport is experiencing a rapid growth in computer-related areas, offering numerous opportunities for collaborations with the industry.
