This summer, Florida International University’s (FIU) School of Computing and Information Sciences will host an NSF DOD Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. The research projects during the summer program will be centered on the theme of Advanced Secured Sensor Enabling Technologies (ASSET).
We are seeking emerging researchers interested in exploring new topics in the field of computer science, pursuing a graduate school, or making connections with world-renowned faculty. The program is unique in that all scholars will be mentored by FIU Faculty and graduate students, and other undergraduates. ASSET researchers receive a housing award for residence on the FIU campus and $5,000 for the 10-week participating plus a $120/week stipend for food to support their full-time attention to research training and developing professional development skills on:
- Communicating research to a variety of audiences
- Problem-solving
- Interpreting results
- Participating in novel research
- Network building
