The MLSS will focus on the areas of machine learning that have made the biggest advances in utility over the last several years, including deep learning. The class will concentrate on methods that allow machine-learning algorithms to train effectively on massive datasets, with emphasis on the latest methods for image and video analysis, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and data synthesis/modeling. In addition to classroom instruction, participants will be given hands-on training in code development and testing, with application to real data sets.
The program is taught by faculty from Duke University, recently ranked #6 among U.S. universities and #8 worldwide in artificial intelligence and machine-learning research (NeurIPS Publication Index).
You can find more information about program prerequisites, curriculum and registration on the 2019 Duke MLSS website.
