The Department of Mathematical Sciences within the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in the following general areas:
- Mathematics, all areas of Mathematics.
- Statistics, all areas of Statistics.
- Data Science, mathematical or statistical aspects.
- Actuarial Science.
Qualifications: Successful candidates will have an outstanding record of research excellence in the field; a commitment to effective and engaged teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels; and a commitment to mentoring students in the respective programs. For the positions in Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science, candidates must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field. For the position in Actuarial Science, candidates must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Risk Management, or a closely related field, and additionally have actuarial credentials such as an Associate or a Fellow of a professional actuarial organization.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences has active research programs in several areas of Mathematics and Statistics. It has 30 tenure-stream faculty, and offers the following degree programs: BA, BS, MS and PhD in Mathematics, BS in Data Science, MS and PhD in Statistics, BS and MS in Actuarial Science, MS in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and a Graduate Certificate in Data Science.
